Thai marriage records can include the marriage certificate (Kor Ror 3) and the marriage registration record or extract (Kor Ror 2). They are different records. Check the document names and the evidence requested for your application instead of assuming one is always sufficient or both are always mandatory.
Civil records help establish the marriage. A certificate alone does not determine whether the UK partner-visa requirements are met. Other relationship, financial, accommodation, language and route-specific evidence may be required.
For a document not in English or Welsh, provide a full translation that UKVI can independently verify. The translator should confirm accuracy, give the translation date, and include their full name, signature and contact details. Include relevant pages, stamps, handwritten notes and reverse-side entries; follow the application instructions for the original-language record as well.
Check passport spellings, dates and names across both records. Where a record has a genuine difference or a name changed, use appropriate supporting documents and explanation. Do not change the source record merely to make it match the application.
If the issuing district office can provide an official English document, check that it contains all the evidence needed. It may remove the need to translate that document, but does not automatically replace a different required record.
A certified translation does not automatically need notarisation or legalisation for every UK visa application. Read the particular instructions before paying for additional certification. Ask for the translation scope, page count, price and provider arrangements in your written quote.
