VFS Bangkok — the UK visa application centre (Belle Grand Rama 9)
The main UK visa application centre in Thailand is in central Bangkok, on the 1st floor of The Shoppes at Belle Grand Rama 9 — a short walk from MRT Phra Ram 9 (Rama 9) station. This is where you give your fingerprints and photo and hand in your documents, after you apply and pay on gov.uk. This page has the full address, the opening hours, a map, how to get there, the fee, what to bring, and how to book. We can book your Bangkok appointment for you.
In Thailand, the UK visa application centres are run by a company called VFS Global on behalf of the UK government. Bangkok is the main and busiest of the three centres (the others are Chiang Mai and a smaller centre in Phuket). It is in a convenient, central location and handles every type of UK visa.
Remember the order: you complete and pay for your visa application first on the official UK government website (gov.uk), and only then do you book a short appointment here to give your fingerprints and photo (your biometrics) and hand over your documents. This page covers everything about the Bangkok centre itself.

How to get there
The centre is easy to reach in central Bangkok. The simplest way is by metro: take the MRT Blue Line to Phra Ram 9 (Rama 9) station, then it is a short walk to the Belle Grand Rama 9 complex. The visa centre is on the 1st floor of The Shoppes (the retail part of the complex).
By MRT (easiest): Blue Line to Phra Ram 9 (Rama 9) station, then a short signed walk into the Belle Grand Rama 9 complex.
By car or taxi: parking is available at the complex. Tell the driver 'Belle Grand Rama 9' on Rama 9 Road.
Nearby landmarks: it is on Rama 9 Road in the Huai Khwang area, close to the Rama 9 / Ratchadaphisek business district — a well-known part of central Bangkok.
The service fee at Bangkok
Good news on cost: because Bangkok is the main, directly-operated centre, there is NO mandatory extra VFS service fee just to attend. Biometric enrolment at the main centre is included in the UK government (UKVI) visa fee you pay on gov.uk — so there is no compulsory VFS charge on top, unlike the smaller Chiang Mai centre, which does add a user-pays service fee (reported at around £55). This does not mean VFS is free: it means attending Bangkok for your biometrics costs nothing beyond the standard UK government visa fee for your route, which is paid on the official UK government website (gov.uk).
The only extra costs at Bangkok are the optional paid add-ons you can choose during booking — for example a premium lounge, a prime-time appointment, document scanning or assistance, courier return or SMS updates, and UKVI priority or super-priority services for a faster decision. You do not need any of these for a normal application, and skipping them does not affect your visa.
Bangkok is the main centre and adds NO mandatory extra VFS service fee just to attend — your biometric enrolment is included in the UK government (UKVI) visa fee you pay on gov.uk. This isn't 'VFS for free': only optional add-ons (premium lounge, prime-time slot, scanning, courier/SMS, UKVI priority) cost extra, and they are entirely your choice.
What to bring
Because your form is already submitted and paid for online, the Bangkok appointment is mainly to give your fingerprints and photo and to hand in or scan your documents. Bring these core items:
Your appointment confirmation (printed or on your phone), showing the Bangkok centre, date and time.
Your passport (the one you used in the application), valid and in good condition.
Your printed supporting documents, sorted in order, plus any certified translations.
That is the short version — for the complete pack and a tick-off checklist, see the full VFS appointment guide.
The order matters. First you complete the visa form and pay the government fee — plus the healthcare surcharge (IHS) if your route has one — on the official UK government website (gov.uk). Only after you have paid does the system pass you to VFS Global to book your biometrics appointment, where you choose the Bangkok centre and a free date and time.
Bangkok is the busiest centre in Thailand, so free standard slots — especially mornings and the start of the week — can fill up quickly in busy periods. Book as early as you can after you have paid, and have a couple of backup dates in mind. If booking online in English feels confusing, this is one of the things we handle for you.
Bangkok is the main centre, handles ALL UK visa types and has the most appointment slots — the easiest centre for most applicants, but the busiest, so book early after you pay on gov.uk.
Is Bangkok the right centre for you?
For most applicants, yes. Bangkok is central, handles every visa type, has the most slots, and adds no extra service fee. If you live in the north, the Chiang Mai centre may be more convenient (it adds a small VFS service fee); if you are in the south, there is a smaller Temporary Enrolment Centre in Phuket. You pick your centre when you book — and we can help you choose.

Is there an extra VFS service fee at Bangkok?
There is no mandatory extra VFS service fee just to attend Bangkok. How do I book the appointment after I apply on gov.uk?
First complete the form and pay the government fee (and the healthcare surcharge if your route has one) on gov.uk. Only after you pay does the system pass you to VFS Global to book biometrics, where you choose Bangkok and a free date and time. Bangkok is the busiest centre, so free standard slots can fill quickly — book early. We can do this whole step for you.
What do I need to bring?
Bring your appointment confirmation, your passport and your printed supporting documents. Your form is already submitted online on gov.uk, so the appointment is mainly fingerprints, a photo, and handing in or scanning your documents. The visit is usually about 30–60 minutes. Use the full checklist on our VFS appointment guide so nothing is missing.
Is Bangkok the right centre for me?
Bangkok is the main UK visa centre in Thailand, handles all visa types, and has the most appointment slots, so it suits most applicants — especially anyone in or near central Thailand. If you live in the north, Chiang Mai may be more convenient (it adds a small extra VFS service fee); for the south, there is a smaller Temporary Enrolment Centre in Phuket. You choose your centre when you book, after applying and paying on gov.uk.
